Tim Elliott Obtains His First CFO Role As An Executive Director for Enovert

"GrowCFO’s impressive programme combined theory with practical application in a multitude of workshops, webinars and group sessions that allowed me to build confidence and work through challenges within a peer group."

Tim Elliott secured his first Group CFO role whilst participating in GrowCFO’s Future CFO Programme and being an active member of the GrowCFO community. Enovert is a leading UK Waste Management, Energy and Recycling company, which Tim joins as an Executive Director.

Enovert is a leading specialist in waste treatment, disposal and energy recovery formed in January 2017. Enovert prides itself on restoring sites to a natural environment and to provide a form of renewable energy that contributes to reducing the world’s reliance on fossil fuels.

They needed to hire a CFO who could continue to support the evolution of the business and fit nicely into their working culture, whilst leading the finance function and supporting the executive team.

Securing the role

Prior to securing the role, Tim spent a lot of time working on his skills gaps identified within The GrowCFO Competency Framework and developing powerful examples of his impressive career achievements to date.

He was delighted to secure his first CFO role at Enovert, a leading UK Waste Management, Energy and Recycling company, which has given him the combination of a fantastic role and working in an industry which he is truly passionate about.

How GrowCFO helped

Tim joined the GrowCFO community to help identify the skills gap that needed addressing and mindset required to land his first CFO role. He achieved this through a combination of working with the mentoring team and collaborating with a peer group of like-minded people at a similar stage of their career.

Tim really benefited from the combination of the wide-ranging theory and practical application in a multitude of workshops, webinars and group sessions. As Tim worked through GrowCFO’s programme, he grew in confidence and conquered his challenges within a peer support group, whilst also benefiting from the professional mentoring team.

GrowCFO’s 100-day planning course was absolutely vital in knowing how to focus his priorities during the first crucial phase for building relationships, business knowledge and credibility. This helped Tim to build the finance blueprint for how he wants to run the finance function going forward.

Although this is a major milestone in Tim’s career, he remains keen to continue learning through GrowCFO going forward and to keep contributing towards the community.
