Adaobi Okafor was appointed Group Finance Director of Futerra Sustainability Communications Limited, having previously been their Group Financial Controller for five years. Futerra is a change agency, a product incubator, and a training academy that works across continents and cultures to deliver sustainable development.

Since its formation in 1997, Futerra has been on a constant mission to change the world for the better by making sustainable development so desirable that it becomes normal. 

Futerra, which is majority owned and led by women, has already helped numerous clients to make a big impact on the world’s biggest challenges. They have offices in the United Kingdom, United States of America, Mexico and Europe.

An impressive career background

Adaobi is FCCA and has excelled across each of her four finance function roles prior to this appointment. She has consistently delivered robust systems, processes and controls throughout the company during her five years as their Group Financial Controller. 

Driven by a strong purpose

Throughout her career, Abaobi has always been a big believer in empowering women and brings hope to many through her amazing fundraising and community work. This includes seven years as a Non-Executive Director at Grooming People for Better Livelihood Centre, which has provided fantastic Board room experience.

Adaobi puts relationships at the heart of everything that she does and is very popular amongst her colleagues, local community, family and friends.
